Peter Obi, the former Anambra State Governor and 2019 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) faces legal action if he failed to declared his interest to contest in the 2023 presidential election.

According to a Twitter user give the former Governor a deadline to declare his interest to contest for number one position in the country or face a court case.

The username identified with @FakeBuhari was responding to a tweet from Obi congratulating the Super Eagles of Nigeria on defeating Sudan in the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The handle tweeted, “Sir, if at the end of this month and you don’t declare interest for the presidency in the 2023 election, then be ready for legal action from me. Leave #AFCON2021 for Orji UZOR Kalu, that’s his calling, not yours. Your calling is excellent economic leadership. Congrats #TeamNigeria.”

But Mr. Obi in response stated that he wished he knew the real name of the person behind the Twitter handle. He added that he doesn’t have money for any court case but pleaded to be given more time.

I wish I knew your real name. But the truth is, I don’t have money to spend on a court case. Give me some time,” Obi had tweeted in response.

In other news; The executive governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has wished the former Lagos governor and National leader of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, well in his dream to become the next president of Nigeria in 2023, but maintained that Nigeria desires the best.

According to PUNCH; Makinde made the remarks when Tinubu visited him over the death of a former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, and two prominent traditional rulers – the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso 1.

Recall that Bola Ahmed Tinubu had last week informed Buhari of his intention to run for the number position, but many Nigerians described it as laughable, troublemaking adventure, a huge embarrassment and against natural justice saying affliction must not rise fot the second time.

However, Hon. Dennis Adikwuru in an interview with Sunday Independent, speak on the declaration of interest by Governor Dave Umahi to run the presidential race under APC, said, it is the balancing of equation with Bola Tinubu. Dave Umahi is on the threshold of the promises given to him by the APC, which prompted his defection from the PDP. I must say that APC is on trial with the latest declaration by Dave Umahi because, with all sincerity, Umahi has better credibility, integrity, pedigree and acceptability than Bola Tinubu, whose political history is shrouded in alleged fraudulent activities. Umahi is a trap unto APC should the party show preference to Bola Tinubu, with an array of alleged ugly past.
