Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has expressed strong confidence in his re-election, stating that the 2027 governorship election will be far smoother for him than previous contests.

The governor made this assertion while speaking at the 2025 Aro Day celebration held in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state. According to Otti, his administration’s visible achievements since assuming office have placed him in a strong position ahead of the next election.

He emphasized that unlike the 2023 campaign, which focused largely on promises, his government can now point to concrete results already delivered to the people of Abia State.

“Just like it happened in 2023, 2027 will even be smoother, I can assure you. In 2023, we were selling promises, but now there are things we can point to that people can see,” Otti said.

The governor noted that while many political actors are already anxious about the 2027 elections, his administration remains focused on governance rather than politicking.

“2027 is still far away, but a lot of people have started putting themselves under unnecessary pressure. We are not worried about 2027 because we have a mandate to deliver in four years. We’ve done 30 months, and there’s still a long way to go,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, praised Governor Otti’s leadership, noting that the transformation in Abia State has gained recognition beyond Nigeria.

“I congratulate Dr. Otti for the remarkable work he has done in Abia. Even outside the state and outside Nigeria, people have taken note of the significant transformation over the past two years,” Sanusi said.

He further expressed pride in serving on Governor Otti’s International Economic Advisory Council and prayed for continued success in delivering good governance to the
