Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has clarified claims in the media space that the PDP threw open its presidential ticket for all and sundry, Daily Post reports.

On Wednesday, Ortom said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP zoning committee did not say the party’s presidential ticket was open to everyone.

Ortom made the clarification in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.

The Chairman of the PDP zoning committee said the panel has submitted its recommendation to the national executive council (NEC) of the party for further action,

According to Ortom, he was misquoted on the matter.

Ortom said: “I want to clear the insinuation that the zoning committee has thrown open the presidential ticket.

“I did inform the media yesterday (Tuesday, April 5, 2022) that the committee has adopted a unanimous position to be presented to the national executive committee (NEC) of the party. Where did I say that the committee has thrown open the presidential ticket?”
