The government of Enugu state must immediately put up emergency plans to ward off “unknown gunmen” that will flee from Anambra in the coming days and weeks.

The “unknown gunmen” terrorizing Anambra today moved in and started camping in Ihiala, Lilu, Orsumoghu, and other border towns between Anambra and Imo when Gov. Uzodinma-inspired military assault made it difficult for them to maintain camps in Imo state.

As the government and youths of Anambra state commence a massive campaign to #EndTheSiege, Enugu communities, especially those bordering the Aguata/Orumba axis of Anambra state, will more than likely begin to see strange encampments in their forests and bushes.

I understand that succession fight and the politics of 2023 has taken a front seat in Enugu.

Yet, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi should be encouraged to minimise the seeming Personal Assistant job he is currently doing for a fellow Governor, and work hard to protect his people from impending danger.

If Governor Willie Obiano rose to the occasion when these criminals started camping in Anambra, we won’t be here today.

Ugwuanyi’s Enugu state should not yield even an inch of operating space to these criminals hiding under the guise of “freedom fighters.”

#EndTheSiege
