Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says Nigeria needs him in 2023.
The APC presidential aspirant said this at a forum organised by the Lagos State House of Assembly, on Wednesday.
15 speakers of the state House of assemblies controlled by the APC were said to be at the event, which had Tinubu as a Special Guest of Honour.
Bragging that none of those seeking the highest office in the land is as qualified as he is, Tinubu said he has the required experience to govern Nigeria and bring about the needed change.
Tinubu said, “Nigeria needs me even as I need Nigeria. Nigeria needs drastic courageous changes that will bring revenue and I am that courageous one it needs. I started my political career from the legislature as a Senator, I am well educated, sound, brilliant and very courageous. I have struggled for democracy and lived in exile and while in exile, I was sponsoring various pro-democracy groups,
“I am a very passionate person and I have it better when it comes to women inclusion and participation in politics. At this critical time, Nigeria needs someone who will change the fortune of the country. How many of those running with me fought for democracy? I was the first governor to grant the State legislature financial autonomy. So, who among them can boost of being a governor of my calibre?
“I was raised to be courageous and this has been working for me. With zero allocation from FAAC, I turned Lagos State around and today, the State has become the largest economy in Africa. I reserve the right to brag. I want to bring same to bear as President of Nigeria. Accelerated development of Nigeria is about thinking and doing and I am ready to do that again because I am a thinker and a doer.”
