Supporters of the Labour Party in Katsina State have promised to generate unprecedented votes for the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti in the 2023 elections.

They made the promise in the Funtua Local Government Area of the State on Wednesday during the inauguration of local government campaign coordinators conducted by the Obi/Datti Contact and Mobilisation Team in the state.

The inauguration of the campaign team is coming less than 72 days before the 2023 general elections.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the Assistant Secretary of the Obi/Datti Contact and Mobilisation Team, Ibrahim Sani, disclosed that, the aim was to generate more votes for Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti.

He explained that the newly inaugurated campaign coordinators are expected to canvas for more support for the Labour Party across various parts of the state to ensure victory.

One of the coordinators, Halima Usman, pledged to mobilize women in all the nooks and crannies of the state to generate more than enough votes for the LP.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Obi/Datti Contact and Mobilisation Team, Umaru Akama Shirwa, challenged the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, stating that Nigeria belongs to everybody irrespective of his or her religious, tribal, and geographical differences.

He, however, urged party supporters not to argue or quarrel with anybody because politics he said is all about interest.

“It’s mandatory to vote for Peter Obi because he selected his running mate from Kaduna State who has been running philanthropic activities, assisting people in the North and in the South.

“With the caliber of people here, we will surely win the forthcoming elections,” he believed. (Channel TV)
