A former minister of aviation and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso for mocking his opponents in the presidential race.

While describing himself as the most qualified person to take over after President Muhammadu Buhari, Kwankwaso highlighted some characteristics that distinguish him from other contestants.

The former governor, in a video released on Twitter, said that he is not a secondary school certificate holder or a diploma certificate holder.

Not done, he went further to say he doesn’t bed wet neither is he a spare tyre.

Kwankwaso’s spare tyre jab could be directed at Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 election. The term “spare tyre” is considered demeaning by many politicians, including incumbent Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who prefers to be called “co-pilot.”

Kwankwaso specifically advised Tinubu in July to focus on his failing health rather than the rigours of electioneering.

Last February, a video depicting Tinubu’s wet attire around the buttocks area and possible odour dominated social media discussion.

The APC presidential candidate was soaked behind when he stood up at the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland in Ijebu Ode, with his security aide frantically covering his nose.

Later, Tinubu’s estranged ally, Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, alluded to the incident, declaring “won ti n to ara” (they’re already urinating on themselves).

A photograph of Tinubu believed to be wearing a “catheter bag” to expel urine surfaced in September, raising further concerns about his frail health ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In a post shared on his verified Twitter page, Femi Fani-Kayode said Kwankwaso is disrespectful and irresponsible to make such a statement about Atiku and Tinubu.

He noted that the duo are both older, wiser, and better than the former governor, adding that they do not wear female underwear like him.

Fani-Kayode said, “I do not bedwet nor am I a spare tyre”- @RabiuKwankwaso.

“Yes but you are disrespectful, irresponsible & dishonest. The two people that you are hitting at here are both far older, wiser & better than you. And unlike you neither of them wears women’s underwear. Mind yourself!”
