Mr Simon Maduekwe, a member of the Labour Party of Nigeria killed by the All Progressives Congress political thugs during the last governorship election in Lagos State, has been laid to rest.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who took to his official Twitter handle to mourn Mr Maduekwe, said he was in front of his house at the Bajulaye compound when APC thugs brutally attacked him.
He said the LP supporter was rushed to Oguntolu Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead following a fatal damage to the back of his head.
Gbadebo however, assured that the Labour Party will continue to support his family.
“Today, we lay to rest Mr Maduekwe, who died on the 18th March 2023, right in front of his house at the Bajulaye compound Shomolu when armed APC thugs Assaulted him with fatal damage to the back of his head. He was rushed to Oguntolu Medical Center where he was confirmed dead.
“Until his death, he was a staunch member of LP, who believed that a new Nigeria was possible.
“The labour party have come together to support his family and will continue to do so. May his fearless soul rest in perfect peace.”
