Another way of looking at it is that regarding the cases at the Tribunal, there are four likely outcomes:
° An affirmation of Tinubu’s selection by INEC
° Declaration of Obi as winner
° Declaration of Atiku winner
° Cancellation of February 25 election and ordering of a new one.
For each of these scenarios, there will be consequences particularly for the last one.
In the case of ordering fresh election, we will still have to return to the same Southwest for votes.
We must remember that the APC chaps tried to ethicize the Obidients/Soyinka tiff. There were people who supported PO that felt offended by the jabs thrown at Kongi.
An Obi visit to the playwright should then be seen as an excellent tactical move on his part.
Again, if we are to face fresh elections, we also need to reach out to the north.
Many there are probably offended by the “Religious War” comment attributed to PO in that audio recording that went viral.
We didn’t explore the north as we should have before the election, if we are to go there a second time seeking votes, would we be met by enough people with open arms if relax and didn’t “woo” them?
On the Obidients, my take is that we have not done enough to bring them under our influence.
I have said it here before and others here have said the same thing, Obidients have leaders or influencers, if you like, that they listen to.
Our own Kenny Adewole and FS Yusuf here are two of such people.
Others include David Hundeyin, Rinu Oduala, Nefertiti, @Pidommedia. There’s even the inimitable Aisha Yesufu.
We can rein in their passions and exuberance through these guys.
We can control the narrative out there by “feeding” them with the right material.
We have on this very platform, someone who heads our social media team. He should be empowered to do the needful.
The war isn’t over yet and so we cannot let down our guards.
We cannot also let Obidients on cyberspace constitute a stumbling block to our plans.
We should manipulate them to our advantage.
Make us spend money abeg. This “we no dey give shishi mantra is becoming an albatross imperiling our march to the Villa.
Let the needful be done, biko!
