Human rights activist and author, comrade Paul Njoku, has berated Afrobeats star, Seun Kuti, for assaulting a policeman.

Recall that the Afrobeat crooner was captured in a viral video assaulting a police operative on duty.

Kuti while making a case for his action said the police officer attempted to kill him and his family members.

But activist Paul who refused to buy the rhetoric of Seun Kuti in a statement made available to News Band Newspaper, described his action as unacceptable and unpleasant.

The fiery activist called for a psychiatric evaluation and mental health treatment of Kuti in order to ascertain the level of his perceived drug and substance abuse.

He said, “I totally condemn the unprovoked police brutality meted out by Seun Kuti to a certain police officer as contained in the viral video. His action was terroristic, silly and irrational.

“It is utterly unacceptable and unpleasant to inflict a physical assault on a police officer on uniform and on duty

“Seun simultaneously constituted a public nuisance in a way that violates human rights and dignity of human person of the police officer he assaulted.

“I urge for a psychiatric evaluation and mental health treatment of this fellow to ascertain the level of his perceived drug and substance abuse.

“Seun Kuti should be legally taught a lesson with diligent prosecution in the court of law.

“No matter who born you, you have no human right to slap a police officer on uniform who as well does not possess a threat to your human life.”

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police command earlier today arrested Seun Kuti.

The Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Benjamin Hundenyin confirmed this in a statement via his official Twitter handle on Monday.
