Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, the Oba, Anambra State celebrity Dibia (native doctor) who was kidnapped days ago, has returned.

In some videos making the rounds on Facebook early hours of today, Saturday, July 29, 2023, while addressing his kinsmen and women, the Dibia said that on the inglorious day, he received a call from a friend of his who told him they were in his hotel merrying for which they had spent over N300k and wanted him present so that he could subsidize their expenses.

Akwa, as he was fondly called by admirers, said he left his house for the hotel and after some minutes he arrived, he heard gunshots. He said he came out from where he was in the hotel to ascertain what was going on. Lo and behold, the assailants fired at him but in his charismatic Akwa, the bullets didn’t enter. By then, two of his security aides were killed.

It was then they said he should enter their motor. He said he joined them because if he had resisted, they would have fired more people.

“I joined them to save lives of people in my hotel. I would have run away but if I did, it would have triggered more killings. I followed them to save lives,” Akwa said.

It was not clear enough why the gunmen penetrated the hotel for which with Akwa’s supposed spirit powers as a Dibia, the gunmen should not have gained entrance in the first place. Akwa told his crowded people in the video that against some flying news that he was owing some people, that he was innocent.

“I was with my captors hearing news that I was owing some people being the reason I was abducted.

“I am a rich man and if I was owing anybody I was equal to the task to pay the person back his or her money.

“The gun men told me the reason they came to my hotel but certainly not for me. I only followed them to save lives of my people and customers.”

The Akwa who has reduced in his bulky size had confidence so much in the video. It was not clear why during his days in captivity some people rejoiced. But given the crowd in the video that welcomed him, it was a glaring fact that his people were not quick to abandon him.
