Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been sworn in as the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was sworn in as a member of the 10th Senate at plenary in Abuja on Thursday, November 2, 2023, becoming the first female senator from Kogi State.

This followed her presentation with Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the duly elected senator for Kogi Central.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had, on Tuesday, declared Akpoti-Uduaghan as the duly elected candidate in the Kogi Central senatorial election held in February 25.

The court dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking in merit.
