The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, hailed the Court of Appeal ruling which sacked Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State.

The appeal court affirmed the ruling of the Tribunal, which sacked Governor Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the March 18 governorship election.

In a judgment delivered on Friday, a three-member appellate court panel affirmed Nasiru Gawuna of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) as the election winner.

Speaking to reporters in Abuja on Friday, Ganduje applauded the appellate court for dispensing justice to the Kano state governorship election dispute.

The former Kano State governor stated that he was sure Yusuf would still want to try his luck at the apex court but assured him of another round of defeat.

Ganduje expressed optimism that the APC will trounce NNPP again at the Supreme Court and advised Yusuf not to waste his time and resources at the apex court.

He said: “Probably, they will go to the Supreme Court, which is part of democracy.

“There is nothing wrong for them to go to the Supreme Court. We, too, are ready to meet them in the Supreme Court. And inshallah, we will win in the Supreme Court as well.”
