A federal high court on Monday convicted four individuals for financing Boko Haram terrorists.

The four individuals, namely Modu Aisami, Zana Zarama, Umar Mohammed Bunu Kame, were convicted and sentenced to prison terms after pleading guilty to charges filed against them by the Federal Government. The special trial took place at the Federal High Court in Dawaki, Abuja.

The legal proceedings involved the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, leading the legal team for the Federal Government. On the other side, the defense counsel was led by F. A. Bakre, the Director of the Criminal Justice Department at the Legal Aid Council (LAC).

Four individuals were convicted by a federal high court for financing Boko Haram.

They pleaded guilty to charges related to providing funds for the terrorist group, and after admitting their guilt, they were sentenced to prison terms.

Aisami received 20 years for each of the offenses, Zarama received 10 years for concealing the identity of a Boko Haram member, and Mohammed and Kame were each sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

The trial was held in camera, and the judgments were delivered by Justice Binta Nyako and Justice Emeka Nwite.
