The North Central Citizens Council (NCCC) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive measures to prevent bloodshed and avoid descending into anarchy through any necessary means.

NCCC voiced concerns over inconsistencies in judicial decisions following the governorship elections in Nigeria held in March 2023.

According to them, stated that these decisions have led to confusion and uncertainty, worsening political opportunism and corruption.

The NCCC suggested that the focus on states like Kano, Plateau, and Zamfara indicates a deliberate effort to instigate regional crises, potentially leading to unrest and national conflict.

They stressed the urgency for Tinubu to take prompt action to prevent anarchy and bloodshed, particularly in light of the heightened attention on the Kano governorship election case.

The NCCC, in a statement titled “Controversial Inconsistencies and Contradictions in the Appeal Court’s Decisions in the Governorship Elections Cases in Kano, Plateau, and Zamfara States,” and signed by Coordinator Comrade Mohammed Eneji, issued a warning against deliberate attempts to instigate regional crises.

The statement reads partially: The North Central Citizens Council (NCCC) expressed serious concerns about the inconsistencies and contradictions in judicial decisions following the March 2023 governorship elections in most Northern Nigerian states.

These decisions have contributed to general confusion and uncertainty, escalating the disquiet caused by political opportunism and corruption.

The NCCC warned against deliberate attempts to cause regional crises, particularly in states like Kano, Plateau, and Zamfara, which are characterized by political volatility.

The group emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must act swiftly to prevent potential anarchy and bloodshed, citing the contentious nature of the decisions in the Kano governorship election case and the potential consequences, such as social unrest, political instability, and a breakdown of law and order.
