The Ogonis, represented by the Ogoni Development Drive (ODD), issue a stern warning to occupy the streets of Abuja if President Bola Tinubu does not step in to address the escalating conflict between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
However, alleging a conspiracy to perpetually heighten political tension against Fubara by Wike and 27 Rivers lawmakers, the Ogonis stress their commitment to preventing Rivers State from becoming a battleground for political warfare.
ODD, through a statement by its convener, Comrade Solomon Lenu, informs the Inspector General of Police that if the state’s tense situation persists, they will mobilize citizens for a street occupation in Abuja.
The group calls on the Presidency to restrain Chief Wike, emphasizing the need for a peaceful governance environment in Rivers State. The statement vehemently rejects any anti-Rivers agenda by the Minister.
