Prominent Ijaw leader, Senator Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has strongly criticized the recent political resolution in Rivers State, by President Bola Tinubu labeling it as undemocratic, dictatorial, and one-sided.

Speaking at an emergency press conference on Tuesday, Clark expressed his dissatisfaction with the resolution brokered by President Bola Tinubu, characterizing it as an attempt to unjustly favor FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his role in the 2023 election victory, NN News Media gathered.

Clark emphasized that the Ijaw nation would not accept any arrangement that diminishes the authority of the democratically elected Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, by turning him into a political subordinate to Wike.

He urged the youth to remain calm while declaring the Ijaw nation’s readiness to use legal means, including going to court, to resist any oppressive actions aimed at undermining Fubara’s position.

The elder statesman conveyed a strong message, stating, “We are prepared to face any consequences that may result from the political crisis in Rivers State. We will resist any attempt to make an elected Ijaw son, Siminialayi Fubara, a servant, a stooge to Nyesome Wike.”

Clark concluded by assuring the aggrieved youth that legal avenues would be pursued to challenge what he described as a “hydra-headed monster” of oppression, emphasizing the commitment to utilizing all available constitutional and legal means in the fight against perceived injustice.
