In a resolute statement made on Thursday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara affirms his unwavering commitment to fulfilling his oath of defending the people of the state, undeterred by the ongoing political turmoil.

Addressing reporters in Ngo Town, the Andoni Local Government Area, Fubara emphasizes his dedication to providing equitable development in the state.

During his visit to inspect the Andoni section of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road, Governor Fubara acknowledges the deplorable condition of the road during his election campaign. Months after the decision to re-award the contract, he commends the commendable progress achieved. Fubara pledges to complete the longstanding project, emphasizing its importance as an enduring legacy for the people.

Expressing satisfaction with the contractor’s work, Governor Fubara acknowledges a discrepancy in the scope, prompting plans to include the 1km stretch leading to the council secretariat. Despite facing challenges, he reiterates his administration’s unwavering focus on fulfilling the oath to defend and protect the interests of the people.

Governor Fubara concludes, “What we are bequeathing to our people is paramount. Governance is about protecting lives and property, providing quality services, such as this road. In just six months, we have achieved what eluded them for over twenty years—a credit to our administration.”
