The All-Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for demanding a fresh election for the 27 defected Rivers lawmakers, despite President Bola Tinubu’s involvement in resolving the crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike.

While the PDP, in an emergency meeting of the national working committee, insisted on a new election for the defected lawmakers to the Rivers state house of assembly, the APC National Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, argued against PDP’s involvement.

Ibrahim emphasized that since the 27 lawmakers have already left the PDP, the party has no right to dictate their political decisions.

He urged the PDP to reflect on its actions, stating, “The PDP should bury its head in shame and lick its wounds, as people are gradually losing faith in them and no longer see them as the emancipators they claimed to be.”
