In a groundbreaking move, Igwe Samuel Asadu, the esteemed ruler of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu in Nsukka LGA of Enugu, has launched a transformative initiative by providing N1 million to 63 youths, igniting the spark for budding entrepreneurs and future leaders.

During the cheque presentation ceremony held on Wednesday, Mr. Asadu emphasized the significance of empowering the youth, stating, “As the traditional ruler of this community, I am sowing this seed of empowerment on youths because they are future leaders.” Expressing optimism for the future, he envisioned the emergence of 63 millionaires and even billionaires within the community in the next decade, bringing about substantial developments.

Mr. Asadu revealed that this empowerment marks the first phase of a comprehensive plan, with more youths in the community set to benefit in the near future. Urging responsible use of the funds, he emphasized the multiplier effect, hoping that others in the community would benefit from the successes of the empowered individuals.

The ruler emphasized that empowerment is a key component of his transformation agenda, aimed at preparing and equipping youths for a prosperous future. He highlighted the role of empowered youths in fostering a peaceful, crime-free society, emphasizing the need to consider their interests for meaningful and positive empowerment.

Commending the meticulous selection process, led by Chidozie Ogbu, Mr. Asadu assured that the funds were allocated based on viable business proposals, ensuring a strategic approach to community development. Mr. Ogbu affirmed the committee’s commitment to closely monitoring the beneficiaries, safeguarding the intended purpose of the empowerment initiative.

The president general of Edem-Ani Town Union, Emeka Ugwoke, expressed gratitude to the ruler for consistently prioritizing the community’s welfare. Kenechukwu Omeje, the youth president, lauded Mr. Asadu for his special commitment to empowering the youth, recognizing the positive impact it will have on the community’s growth and prosperity.
