In a shocking incident that unfolded at Sagwari Layout Estate in Dutse, Abuja, no fewer than 10 individuals fell victim to a harrowing kidnapping spree.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of assailants, disguised as herders, infiltrated the estate at approximately 7:30 pm, instigating an atmosphere of fear and chaos.

The marauders targeted eight residents within the estate, while two employees from a nearby hotel were also seized during the audacious operation. As the ordeal unfolded, a distressed message from one of the victims circulated on the estate’s WhatsApp group, expressing the imminent danger faced by their family. Tragically, communication abruptly ceased a few minutes later, heightening the sense of urgency surrounding the situation.

Promptly responding to the distressing incident, security operatives mobilized swiftly, collaborating with estate security guards to scour the hills behind the targeted area. Amidst the rescue efforts, a security operative who had fallen victim to the kidnappers was successfully freed after being beaten and restrained.

Despite attempts to obtain official statements, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, remained unreachable for comments. Numerous calls to her phone went unanswered. In a conversation with the police emergency call center, an officer confirmed the command’s awareness of the incident, assuring that the closest Divisional Police Officer (DPO) had been notified to deploy personnel to the scene.

The community now waits anxiously for updates on the unfolding situation, hoping for the safe return of those abducted in this brazen nighttime attack.
