Tragedy struck as Herbert Wigwe, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, along with his wife and son, were involved in a fatal helicopter crash in the United States. The ill-fated journey was en route to Las Vegas when the helicopter went down near the border city between Nevada and California late on Friday night.

Reports from TheWill indicate that Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), was also onboard during the crash.

The crash, which occurred near Nipton on the outskirts of the Mojave Desert, resulted in the loss of six lives, adding to California’s recent string of aviation accidents.

Just days earlier, a Navy helicopter carrying five personnel had crashed during a routine training flight in Pine Valley, California, further highlighting the dangers of aviation activities in the region.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the Eurocopter EC 130 crash, which claimed the lives of all six individuals onboard. The tragic incident has left officials grappling with the aftermath, as hopes for survivors have been dashed in the rugged terrain of San Bernardino County.
