Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has touched down in Ivory Coast to witness the highly anticipated 2023 AFCON final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire.
His presence aims to bolster support for the Super Eagles in their quest for victory against the host nation.
Representing President Bola Tinubu, Shettima’s attendance at the game in Abidjan was confirmed by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to Shettima on Media, in a press release issued on Saturday.
The statement emphasized the Vice President’s recent role in representing President Tinubu during the semi-final showdown, where Nigeria emerged victorious over South Africa.
In the released statement, it was highlighted, “Recognizing the unifying power of football and the immense role the Super Eagles play in fostering national pride and unity, the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, believes that Vice President Shettima’s presence at the finals alongside the delegation is a testament to the government’s unwavering support for the team and its dedication to their success.”
