During a courtesy visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, a significant plea was made regarding the pressing concerns of the Nigerian populace.

Emir Ado-Bayero urged Mrs. Tinubu to personally convey to her husband, President Bola Tinubu, the prevailing hunger being felt across the nation.

The Emir emphasized the importance of Mrs. Tinubu’s direct communication with the President, stating that while there are formal channels available, her direct approach was deemed the most effective. He underscored that the economic challenges faced by Nigerians require urgent attention from the administration.

Addressing the issue of insecurity, the Emir implored President Tinubu to intensify efforts towards achieving lasting peace in the country. He acknowledged that while insecurity has been a longstanding issue, there is a pressing need for enhanced measures to address it.

Furthermore, the Emir raised concerns about the reported relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from Abuja to Lagos. He stressed the necessity for transparency from the government on this matter and urged for clear communication to the Nigerian people regarding the rationale behind such decisions.

In response, Mrs. Tinubu appealed for understanding from Nigerians amidst the prevailing economic challenges, assuring them of the government’s commitment to the nation’s welfare. She expressed optimism about the ongoing economic reforms and policies aimed at improving the situation.

Mrs. Tinubu also conveyed her appreciation for the warm reception extended by the state government and the enthusiastic welcome from school children during her visit. She reiterated her confidence in the government’s efforts to steer the country towards a better future.
