Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent figure in the Labour Party (LP), has expressed his disappointment with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He had initially thought that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure would be the most challenging, but he now believes that the current government has surpassed it in terms of difficulties.
In a recent conversation with Seun Okinbaloye from Channels Television, Okonkwo voiced his concerns about the potential risk of anarchy in the country.
Okonkwo also accused Tinubu of favoritism, expressing his disapproval of the President’s decision to allow his children to precede Ministers in the Order of Protocols during his recent visit to Qatar.
He warned, “Nigeria is on the brink of anarchy. Nigeria is not Lagos, where you can simply issue decrees and expect them to be implemented.
“You cannot equate gold with carrots.
“I was under the impression that Buhari’s tenure would be the most challenging, but the first nine months of this administration have already exceeded it.
“Do you understand the implications of allowing your children to take precedence over the Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Order of Protocols? What would you call that? You permitted an individual to enter Aso Rock, sit on the Coat of Arms, and label our military personnel as thieves.
“This administration’s appointments are focused not just on the South-West, but specifically on the Lagos axis of his proteges.”
Okonkwo criticized the Tinubu administration for lacking a concrete development plan for the nation. His comments were made in response to the administration’s decision to relocate some ministries, departments, and agencies from Abuja to Lagos.
