Shock and horror gripped residents of Osogbo, Osun State, as they stumbled upon a ghastly scene on Tuesday the decapitated body of a middle-aged woman, lying opposite the Osogbo Local Government Secretariat. The disturbing sight left locals bewildered and deeply unsettled.

Reports indicate that the victim was a homeless woman known to frequent the streets in the area. Victoria, a resident, speculated that the brutal nature of the mutilation suggested the possibility of ritualistic motives. The woman’s head, hands, and other body parts were gruesomely removed, indicating a horrifying act of violence.

Despite efforts to alert the authorities, including the police, Victoria lamented the lack of immediate response. “Police have been notified, but they have not responded to our calls yet,” she disclosed, highlighting the urgency of the situation given the proximity of the discovery to the government secretariat.

Confirming the incident, Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, assured that an investigation into the woman’s death had been launched. “It is true, we have contacted the relevant authorities to handle the corpse, while the investigation is ongoing,” Opalola affirmed, promising that efforts were underway to unravel the chilling circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
