The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has suggested that the actions of Usman Ododo, the current Governor of Kogi State, could be considered criminal.

This comes after Ododo allegedly obstructed the EFCC’s attempt to arrest Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State.

According to the EFCC, such obstruction of their lawful operations is a criminal offence under Section 38(2)(a(b) of the EFCC Establishment Act. Individuals found guilty of this offence could face a prison sentence of no less than five years.

The EFCC has issued a stern warning in response to this incident, stating that it will no longer tolerate any form of interference in its operations. The commission has made it clear that any attempts to obstruct its operations will be met with appropriate punitive measures. This implies that Governor Ododo, along with any other individuals or groups attempting to hinder the EFCC’s operations, could potentially face serious legal consequences.
