Peter Obi, who represented the Labour Party in the 2023 Presidential election, shared his experiences on his X handle from a recent visit to two significant locations in Kaduna.
Following his tour of the Hidayyatul Auladi Muslimima Almajiri school in Kawo, Obi made a planned visit to the FOMWAN Hospital, a key establishment of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN).
FOMWAN, a nonprofit organization founded in 1985, is committed to empowering Muslim women across Nigeria through various initiatives in education and health. The FOMWAN Hospital, in particular, plays a crucial role in addressing the maternal healthcare needs in Nigeria.
Given the urgent need for improved maternal healthcare, especially in light of Nigeria’s surpassing India in infant mortality rates, Obi emphasized the importance of supporting institutions like the FOMWAN Hospital.
During his visit, Obi had the chance to interact with the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide essential healthcare services. In appreciation of their commendable efforts, he made a donation of 10 million Naira, underscoring the importance of their continued work.
Obi expressed his firm belief that investments in organizations like FOMWAN not only improve access to quality healthcare but also contribute to the larger goal of creating a more equitable and prosperous society.
He concluded by stating that the vision of a better nation can only be achieved if we ensure that future generations of Nigerians are born into a country with optimal healthcare facilities.
