Despite the accord between the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) and the Southwest Commodity Farmers Organization in the South West, which was intended to facilitate cattle breeding within the region, a recent incident has raised concerns.

A farmer has poisoned his crops, leading to the sudden death of grazing cattles.

This event recalls the peace pact signed at an Ibadan summit, which was supposed to herald a new era in farmer-herder relations.

However, the alleged poisoning incident in the region could be seen as a new tactic to deter cattle from the South-West.
