The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have concluded an investigation into the accidental bombing of Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government of Kaduna State in December 2023.

The investigation revealed that 2 personnel were indicted for alleged acts of omission or commission. As a result, the suspects will face a Court Martial.

Maj-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, announced this development during a briefing on ongoing operations across the country. He emphasized that the incident was a mistake, with civilians mistakenly identified as terrorists. The AFN is committed to preventing such errors in the future and ensuring the safety of non-combatants.

In a separate operation, troops of Operation Delta Safe in the Niger Delta region made significant gains, recovering stolen crude oil and other illegal products worth over N2 billion.

The troops seized a substantial amount of stolen crude oil and refined products, arrested suspects, rescued kidnapped hostages, and confiscated weapons and ammunition. Additionally, they dismantled illegal refining sites and apprehended suspected oil thieves and violent extremists.

The AFN’s actions demonstrate their commitment to accountability, operational success, and protecting civilians in conflict zones.
