Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed concern following President Bola Tinubu’s fall during the Democracy Day celebrations in Abuja.

Tinubu stumbled while entering a ceremonial vehicle at the 2024 Democracy Day event. Observers noted that the President lost his balance just as he was about to step into the vehicle, falling before being quickly assisted by his security detail.

The incident has sparked a wave of reactions from Nigerians, especially on social media. In a post on X, Atiku stated, “I sincerely sympathize with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”

Meanwhile, another opposition figure and former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, remarked that there was nothing unusual about the President’s fall.

“Not just President Tinubu, anyone alive can trip and fall; it happened to President Biden and Fidel Castro. Presidents are human beings and mortals,” he tweeted.
