The Facebook account of Dauda Kahutu Rarara, a well-known northern APC praise singer, has been deleted following a mass reporting campaign by his northern followers.

This action came after Rarara posted a song lauding President Bola Tinubu.

Rarara’s official Facebook account, which boasted over one million followers, was no longer accessible as of Saturday when Facebook decided to remove it.

In the midst of economic difficulties, marked by skyrocketing food prices, Rarara uploaded a song commending President Tinubu for making Nigeria great and alleviating hunger and insecurity in the north.

“Tinubu has made Nigeria great. Northerners have said goodbye to hunger, insecurity, and poverty,” Rarara proclaimed in his song.

This controversial release comes just before planned nationwide protests set to start on August 1, addressing the severe economic hardship that has led to a more than 100 percent increase in food prices.

Despite Rarara’s claims in the song that northerners are free from insecurity and hunger, it is notable that his mother was recently kidnapped by bandits in Katsina. She was released after spending several days in captivity.
