Mal. Jabir Ibrahim Taro, the National Chairman of the Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria (NCMN), has been released from detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Taro, who was detained in connection with preparations for a nationwide protest against poor governance in Nigeria, has vowed to continue mobilizing Nigerians for the demonstration.
In a tweet from his X handle, Taro wrote, “I’m out!!! Before briefing the public about what happened. Let’s continue to join our hands together to #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
Ismaila Yusuf, known on X as @TruthToArewa, has called for mass mobilization, urging Nigerians to #OccupyDSSJQ until @Mallam_jabeer is released.
The detention and subsequent release of Taro have heightened tensions as the country prepares for the nationwide protest against governance issues. Many activists have expressed outrage over the treatment of peaceful organizers and are determined to continue their fight for change in Nigeria.
