At the inaugural Council of State meeting under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, held on Tuesday, the Council commended Nigerians for their firm stance against any attempts to undermine the constitutional order during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The meeting, convened by President Tinubu, saw members unanimously passing a vote of confidence in his leadership.

This was revealed by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, during a briefing to State House Correspondents. The meeting took place at the State House Council Chambers, with physical attendance from former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, among others. Former Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retired) and Abdulsalami Abubakar, participated virtually along with the governors of Abia, Adamawa, and Akwa Ibom States.

Alake noted that seven ministers, alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, were invited to present on various matters, including the administration’s roadmaps, prospects, and challenges. The Council also discussed the diversification of the economy and received a briefing from the NSA on the situation before, during, and after the #EndBadGovernance protests.
