Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, expressed his congratulations to the newly elected 14th Asagba of Asaba Kingdom, Professor Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge SAN, via his official X handle.

Obi praised the selection of Professor Azinge, describing it as a fitting decision that aligns with Asaba’s long-standing tradition of choosing exceptional leaders, particularly in their monarchial lineage. He highlighted Azinge’s remarkable credentials as a distinguished scholar and accomplished lawyer, referring to him as the perfect choice for the esteemed position.

“I have no doubt that the Asagba-elect will bring his extensive experience to benefit the royalty of the Asaba Kingdom,” Obi stated. He further noted that the country is in need of quality leadership in various sectors to drive progress and development.

Obi also commended the people of Asaba and the kingmakers for the transparent and peaceful process that led to Azinge’s election, free of conflict and disputes.
