Kehinde Adesoga Adekusibe, who called for the mass killing of Igbo people in a controversial social media post, was reportedly arrested by police but has allegedly been released without prosecution.

Despite his inflammatory remarks, there have been no public updates on his case, leading to speculation that he was quietly discharged. Amid public outrage, Adekusibe deactivated his X account, and the authorities have yet to provide a clear resolution on his legal status.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on May 18, 2023, Adekusibe wrote:

“Let’s kill all Igbos. Let’s flush them out of Yoruba lands. I hate these people with passion. They are violent people. They are the worst. They hate us. Let’s hate them without holding back.”

Following the inflammatory tweet, Adekusibe was arrested by Osun police in June 16, 2023 for violating social media policies on hate speech. However, there have been no public updates on his case since his arrest, prompting speculation that he may have been released without prosecution. The tweet has since resurfaced on social media, fueling further controversy.

The police noted that Adekusibe confessed to the crime and would be charged in court upon the completion of the investigation.

The case remains under investigation as the public awaits further developments from the authorities.
