A recent post by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on X has sparked controversy.

Adejobi announced that another set of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) is ready for commissioning by the president, describing the development as “commendable and awesome.”

However, the X community has reacted critically to this announcement. One user labeled it as “clearly a propaganda by the incompetent Nigerian Police Force.” The user pointed out that the image used in the post was from a news article dated February 2023, where former President Muhammadu Buhari was commissioning the same Armoured Carriers.

NN News Media recall that, the former Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, had finalized plans for President Buhari’s visit to the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters in Abuja, to commission a range of operational assets. This event took place on Monday, 13th February 2023, at 9 am. The assets were intended to enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in crowd control and anti-riot operations.

The community’s reaction highlights concern about the authenticity and timing of the announcement, suggesting that it may be an attempt to mislead the public
