Monday Okpebholo, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has cast his vote in the ongoing Edo gubernatorial election.

After voting at polling unit PU003 in Uwessan 1, Esan Central LGA, Okpebholo expressed his confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stating that the electoral process is proceeding smoothly.

Speaking to reporters, he asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not secure any votes at his polling unit, claiming strong support from his community. “What I’m seeing here is testimony that INEC is getting it right. PDP won’t get one vote here because this is my home and my people love me. I have nothing to fear,” he stated.

Addressing concerns about security, Okpebholo downplayed the situation, describing reports as exaggerated and aimed at discouraging voter turnout. He added, “You know Obaseki… his wisdom I don’t understand. He wanted to cause unrest in Edo state, but by the grace of God, everything is moving perfectly.”

Okpebholo is in a competitive race against Asue Ighodalo of the PDP, Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, and 14 other candidates vying for the Osadebe House.
