Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi continued his Gratitude Tour to Nigerians in the Diaspora with a recent visit to Los Angeles, California.

During his meeting with the Nigerian community, Obi shared a powerful message of hope and resilience, encouraging them not to lose faith in Nigeria’s future.

Obi emphasized the vision of a New Nigeria—one where systems function effectively, moving from a culture of consumption to one of productivity, and ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens to thrive. He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Nigerians in California for their ongoing support, which he sees as vital to the movement towards a just, equitable, and productive nation. “Together, we will lay the groundwork for a New Nigeria that is indeed possible!” he stated.

Following his stop in Los Angeles, Obi wrapped up his North America Thank You Tour with an Open Forum in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was joined by several Georgia State Legislators. In this session, he reiterated the importance of envisioning a Nigeria where institutions operate effectively, upholding the rule of law, and providing opportunities based on merit.

Obi urged the diaspora to remain steadfast in their commitment to building a Nigeria where every individual has the chance to rise from poverty, irrespective of their background. As his North America tour comes to a close, he expressed deep gratitude to the Nigerian diaspora for their contributions to the nation’s welfare and encouraged them to continue their efforts. “Our collective actions will bring about a New Nigeria that is POssible,” he concluded.
