A Saturday evening fire incident forced the temporary closure of three major radio stations in Aba: Enyimba 94.3FM, Legend 98.3FM, and Rose 101.9FM.

According to a Sunday press release from Enyimba TV and Radio Ltd, the fire broke out around 9:30 p.m., posing a serious threat to the facilities until quick-thinking community members intervened to bring the flames under control.

“We are immensely grateful for the prompt support from our community, which prevented further damage and allowed us to keep everyone safe,” the management said. “Most importantly, all staff members are unharmed.”

As a precaution, management announced a temporary suspension of operations across all three stations. This pause will allow for a thorough assessment of the damage and the implementation of enhanced safety protocols before resuming broadcasts.
