On November 22, 2024, Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate from the 2023 elections, issued a heartfelt statement mourning the death of his younger brother and colleague, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Obi attended Ubah’s funeral in Nnewi, where he expressed his profound shock and sadness over the senator’s passing.

In his statement, Obi reflected on the impact Ubah had on many lives, emphasizing that his contributions extended beyond politics.

He praised Ubah’s dedication to philanthropy through his not-for-profit organization, which focused on education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation for the underprivileged. The late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented Anambra South, passed away in London at the age of 52 on July 27, 2024.
