The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended his congratulations to Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama, following his recent electoral victory.

In a statement addressed to Mahama, Obi expressed admiration for the democratic process that enabled the peaceful transition of leadership in Ghana.

“Your Excellency, Mr. President-elect John Mahama,” Obi began. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your election victory as the President of the Republic of Ghana.”

He praised Ghana’s strong democratic values, stating that Mahama’s victory is a testament to the political maturity the African continent greatly needs.

Obi also wished the President-elect a successful tenure, emphasizing the importance of progress in key areas. “May your presidency be marked by transformative achievements in development, education, health, and poverty alleviation, while inspiring unity across Africa,” Obi added.
