Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident where a Nigerian military fighter jet mistakenly bombed innocent people in Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa communities in Sokoto State, resulting in the loss of at least 10 lives.

Obi emphasized the importance of protecting innocent civilians while combating insecurity in the nation. He urged the military to ensure precision in their operations to avoid further loss of innocent lives.

“Our military men have remained resilient and firm in their efforts to stamp out the criminal elements terrorizing our nation. I urge them to ensure perfect precision in launching targeted strikes on criminal strongholds to avoid further waste of innocent lives, which have become too many,” Obi stated.

He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the grieving families and the communities affected by the tragedy. Obi also commiserated with the government and people of Sokoto State, praying for Almighty Allah to grant them the strength to bear the losses.

“May Almighty Allah forgive the sins of the dead and grant them Aljanna Firdausi, and grant quick and full recovery to the wounded,” he added.
