Nigeria National News Media (NN News Media) has awarded His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, the title of Best Eastern Governor of the Year 2024.
This recognition follows Fubara’s outstanding performance and his resistance to external political influences, ensuring the state’s resources are used for the benefit of its people.
Fubara’s commitment to his constituents is seen as a rare and commendable stance in Nigeria’s political history, where he has vowed to prioritize the welfare of his people over external pressures. He succeeded Abia State Governor Alex Otti, who held the title in 2023.
Enugu State’s governor secured second place for his efforts in improving state performance and combating insecurity. Alex Otti, the previous year’s winner, came in third, recognized for his continued efforts to enhance security in his state.
While other governors are making strides in infrastructure and security, the governors of Anambra and Imo states have faced criticism for failing to address issues of violence and kidnapping. However, NN News Media noted that Imo youths have formed vigilante groups to combat insecurity in their state.
NN News Media praised Governor Fubara’s leadership and dedication to his state’s development, highlighting his ability to navigate political challenges and maintain stability in Rivers State.
His win is a testament to his dedication to serving the people independently and with integrity, setting a notable example for governance in Nigeria’s Eastern region.
