Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected executive members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

In a statement, he praised Senator John Azuta-Mbata, the new President General; Prince Okey Nwadinobi, the Deputy President General; Emeka Sibeudu, the Secretary General; and other executive members on their emergence as leaders of the revered Igbo umbrella organization.

On behalf of his family and the Obidient movement, Obi lauded their election as a reflection of the trust and confidence the Igbo people have in their leadership and commitment to progress. “Their emergence underscores the hope the people have in their ability to foster development in the region and contribute to the nation’s growth,” Obi stated.

He urged the new leaders to leverage their positions to promote peace, unity, and initiatives that drive development among the Igbo people and Nigeria as a whole. Obi concluded his message with prayers for wisdom and strength for the new executives as they serve their people.

Reiterating his vision, Obi emphasized, “A New Nigeria Remains POssible.”
