Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has issued a statement in response to the recent terrorist attack and ambush in Borno State.

The attack, which claimed numerous lives and left many missing, underscores the ongoing security challenges facing Nigeria.

Obi emphasized the urgent need for the government to intensify its efforts to secure the country. He called for a resolute fight against terrorism and urged authorities to deploy all available resources to bring the perpetrators to justice. He stressed the importance of adequately equipping, supporting, and motivating security personnel on the frontlines.

Obi highlighted that insecurity is not just a government challenge but requires a united front from all stakeholders, including community leaders, religious leaders, civil society, and every citizen. He expressed deep sorrow for the grieving families, sharing that their pain is felt by all Nigerians.
