In preparation for a dignified and fitting farewell to the late Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a distinguished leader of the Ijaw Nation, the Burial Committee visited the suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, at his Port Harcourt residence on Friday.

The delegation, led by Committee Chairman Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, included key figures such as the National President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Prof. Benjamin Okaba, among others.

During the visit, the committee briefed Governor Fubara on the progress of arrangements for a successful and memorable burial ceremony.

Pa Clark, an esteemed leader and elder statesman, played an instrumental role in the nation-building process, advocating for social justice. His lasting contributions to the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large are immeasurable.

Governor Fubara had earlier described Pa Clark as an exemplary leader, known for his courage in speaking out against injustice, leadership irresponsibility, and marginalization, all while promoting national unity.

Chief Lulu-Briggs, Chairman of the Burial Committee, emphasized that the visit was an important milestone in ensuring that Pa Clark receives a burial befitting his extraordinary legacy. He reiterated that the committee’s efforts reflect the high regard in which Pa Clark was held, and the upcoming ceremony will celebrate both his life and his immense contributions to society.
