The Northern Renaissance Network (NRN) has vehemently criticized the mass failure of candidates from the South-East and parts of Lagos in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was reportedly caused by a system malfunction.
In an official statement issued by NRN’s Spokesperson, Theo Abuh Agada, the group condemned the failure, calling for appropriate compensation for the affected candidates due to the emotional and psychological impact of the disruption.
Despite Prof. Is-haq Oloyede’s acknowledgment of the issue, NRN finds his apology insufficient and demands his immediate resignation. Furthermore, the group is urging the Registrar to surrender to the authorities for prosecution, emphasizing the need for full accountability.
The NRN has also called on relevant bodies to carry out a thorough investigation into the glitch. Should any foul play be found, those responsible must be brought to justice.
NRN stands in solidarity with the affected candidates, insisting on transparency, justice, and proper redress in resolving this distressing issue.
