Senate President Godswill Akpabio has boldly claimed that traditional political party lines will cease to exist in Akwa Ibom State by 2027.

Speaking at an empowerment briefing held at Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium on Friday, Akpabio, who represents Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, stated that political allegiance in the state has effectively unified under specific leadership figures, rendering party distinctions irrelevant.

“There will be no political parties in 2027 in Akwa Ibom. For the Senate seat in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, every party structure has collapsed in support of Senator Godswill Akpabio,” he said.

Akpabio also threw his support behind the state governor and the president, adding, “For the governorship, all parties are aligned behind Governor Umo Eno. Akwa Ibom is united in its support for President Bola Tinubu, Umo Eno as governor, and myself as Senator.”

Taking aim at the opposition, he declared, “The Peoples Democratic Party is in tatters. Its umbrella no longer offers any protection to the people.”
