The Labour Party chapters in Anambra and Enugu States have officially announced their full endorsement of the coalition arrangement involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This strategic alliance is aimed at advancing the party’s long-term objectives of deepening democracy and promoting people-driven governance across Nigeria.
Anambra State Labour Party Endorses Coalition
In a memo released to journalists in Awka on Thursday, the Labour Party’s State Caretaker Committee, led by State Chairman Peter Okoye, expressed strong support for the coalition. The statement highlighted that the coalition is being actively championed at the national level by the Labour Party’s national leader, Mr. Peter Obi.
“This strategic collaboration aligns perfectly with the broader goals and aspirations of the Labour Party to deepen democracy, promote good governance, and deliver people-oriented leadership,” the memo stated.
The party emphasized that Obi’s involvement signals the seriousness and promising prospects of this new political realignment. Members, supporters, and stakeholders in Anambra State were urged to embrace the initiative wholeheartedly.
“We therefore urge all members, supporters, and stakeholders of the Labour Party in Anambra State to key into this important development. Together, we will continue to build a formidable force that reflects the will and interests of the Nigerian people, especially the hardworking and enterprising citizens of Anambra State,” the memo concluded.
The Labour Party also assured that further details and guidelines regarding the coalition would be communicated to members in the coming days, while commending members for their unwavering commitment to the party’s core values.
Enugu State Labour Party Joins the Coalition
Similarly, the Enugu State chapter of the Labour Party, in a statement signed by Chairman Kingsley Ugwu on Thursday, confirmed its embrace of the ADC coalition.
Addressing members and stakeholders, the statement read:
“This is an official message from the Leadership of Labour Party Enugu State. We are pleased to announce that Labour Party Enugu State has officially embraced the coalition to contribute to the movement for achieving a better Nigeria, working together with our principal, Peter Obi.
While we remain committed members of the Labour Party, we recognize the importance of collaboration and unity in pursuit of our shared goals. As part of this effort, we are excited to announce that we can now begin advertising the ADC agenda across all 260 wards in Enugu State.
This initiative aims to promote our vision for a better Nigeria and engage with our communities on the issues that matter most. We believe that by working together, we can build a brighter future for our state and our nation.”
